Influencer Bootcamp

On July 27th and 28th, the Department of Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis hosted its second Influencer Bootcamp. The purpose of the influencer bootcamp is to bring people who have an interest in wine together at UC Davis for an immersion into both the technical and production aspects of grape growing and winemaking. To grow our brand (and get more influencers, consumers, and potential students interested in what we do), we ask the influencers to post about the bootcamp on social media through photos, videos, blog posts, podcasts and more.

Congratulations to Andy Waterhouse on his retirement!

On May 31, 2023, the Department of Viticulture and Enology presented a seminar at the UC Davis Conference Center to honor the career of Professor Andrew Waterhouse. Several of his former students, postdocs, and visiting scholars were invited to speak at the event.  As you might imagine, many speakers talked about oxidation reactions, including some of the work they did in Andy’s lab, but some also spoke about their current work (some of Andy’s former students are actually working in areas related to what they studied in Dr. Waterhouse’s lab).

Congratulations to the 2023 Graduates!

The Department of Viticulture and Enology had a wonderful, comfortably cool, outdoor in-person graduation celebration for our students receiving a BS or MS in Viticulture and Enology on Friday, June 16, 2023. V & E Chair and Professor, David Block, got the festivities started and Greg Hirson, V & E alumnus (MS 2008) and Vice President of Products at Cork Supply, was the graduation speaker.  Professors Block and Montpetit and graduate and undergraduate advisor, Liz Price, then presented the 2023 graduates and citation recipients.

Job Opportunities in Viticulture and Enology

VEN Jobs is a place for companies in the grape growing, winemaking, and associated industries to post job opportunities and for those who are currently looking for work to be able to search the open positions.
