Since its founding in 2008, Sacramento-based RF Biocidics has been pioneering methods that use radio frequency technology to safely eliminate food-related pathogens, pests and fungi from products like nuts, grains and seeds.

"The Davis kids are very analytical with a good understanding of science. The Fresno kids seem to be a little more hands on and have a feel for the work and the vineyards. And the San Luis Obispo kids are always the nicest kids in the world."

Four new viticulture farm advisors were hired in the past year by the University of California to serve in San Joaquin Valley Extension office positions. These farm advisors cover the vast wine, table and raisin grape growing region that includes the counties of Kern, Kings, Tulare, Fresno, Madera, Merced and Mariposa.

The Department of Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis is going "On the Road" to Salinas, CA, bringing some of the latest grape and wine research to other regions around California. 
These programs are geared toward wine and winegrape industry professionals. The topics presented in Salinas are mainly viticulture-focused, with one enology-focused presentation titled "Understanding cap extraction in red wine fermentations". We will also introduce our newest faculty member.
