Brewery receives $1 million gift to fund new equipment

Carlos Alvarez, founder and owner of The Gambrinus Company of San Antonio, Texas, announced a $1 million gift to the brewing science program at UC Davis. The gift will fund new brewing and laboratory equipment at UC Davis to create the brewery of the future. The gift from Alvarez will build on previous investments and secure UC Davis position as a leader in brewing education. 

FST undergrad wins Food Hackathon grand prize

Congratulations to FST undergrad Constantine Costa Spyrou, who won the Food Hackathon's grand prize -- a trip to the 2015 World Expo in Italy. He won for creating an app to help consumers choose foods that meet their medication needs.
