DiCaprio and Harris hold Better Process Control School 2023

FST’s Erin DiCaprio and Linda J. Harris held the Better Process Control School (BPCS) February 14-17th, 2023 for a class of 75 industry (including small business) and regulatory personnel. Linda was the course coordinator from 2017 to 2022 (taking over from Diane Barrett in 2017); Erin is the current course coordinator.

Phaff Yeast Culture at UC Davis Biodiversity Museum Day, Feb. 18th

The Phaff Yeast Culture Collection is participating in the 11th annual UC Davis Biodiversity Museum Day on Saturday February 18, 2023. The yeast displays and activities will be open from 10AM to 2 PM at the Robert Mondavi Institute Brewery, Winery and Food Processing facility. Come explore the exhibits about yeast, hear about the latest discoveries from the Phaff collection, and tour the teaching winery and brewery.

Viticulture and Enology

The Department is pleased to welcome Larly Lee as its new Program Coordinator for the Broadening Horizons program. Larly is a Chico State alumnus with a BA in Multicultural and Gender Studies and a MA in Social Science. He is passionate about serving underrepresented and underserved BIPOC communities. Previously, he worked as a K-12 Program Coordinator at the UC Davis School of Medicine, Office of Student and Resident Diversity. He also worked as a TRIO Advisor for the CSU Chico Educational Talent Search program.
