Dr. Anita Oberholster, VEN's Cooperative Extension Specialist in Enology, was chairperson of the steering committee for the second day of a successful conference on the role of sensory science in sustainability. The International Congresses at Simei 2015 was held on the 3rd and 4th of November in Milan, Italy, and was organized by the Union of Italian Wines (UIV) as part of the SIMEI - International Enological and Bottling Equipment Exhibition. 

The congress's subject was Discover the Sensory Factors - Measuring the quality and social and cultural importance of wine with particular focus on sensory analysis. It was very successful with many important international and American key players attending. Though Dr. Oberholster wasn't able to attend the conference in person, she did all the logistics from Davis, making several video messages that were shown during the conference.
