We spent much of September and October providing the latest information about smoke exposure for our stakeholders, on our webpage dedicated to wildfire and smoke exposure resources.  This included making an instructional “how to” video of the WCSETF Small Scale Fermentation protocol.  The video is posted on YouTube. We also provided a FAQ page and information on laboratories providing testing for smoke exposure compounds. In addition, UC Davis and the CDFA collaborated to temporarily set up commercial analysis of volatile phenols in wine and grape samples, respectively, to help alleviate the backlog of samples to be tested.

We are in the process of planning future programs.  In 2021, we plan to complete four On the Road programs in the following counties or areas:  Kern, Alameda /Contra Costa, Shasta/Tehama, and the 3Ms (Merced, Madera, and Mariposa counties).  In addition, we are planning the following (usually On Campus) virtual programs:

February 9 and 10, 2021:  Healthy Vineyard Soils, to view the agenda and for registration information:  https://wineserver.ucdavis.edu/events/healthy-vineyard-soils

March 4, 2021:  Wine Regulations (TTB, ABC, FSMA, and OSHA), agenda and registration available soon

April 7 and 8, 2021:  Recent Advances in Viticulture and Enology, agenda and registration available soon
