The Food Tech Club (FTC) is a student chapter of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). Our goal is to help students find connections and passion in food research, industry, and beyond! In fall quarter, we had many great opportunities to share knowledge with each other, and to bond as a community. In November, we hosted a scallion pancake food demo, aimed to teach people how to cook unique cuisines!
We also venture out of Davis and visit facilities around Northern California. One of our largest industry tours this season was at the Guittard Chocolate facility in Fairfield. Students learned about how one of America’s oldest family-owned companies make chocolate! (see photo and caption at top).
We have amazing faculty here, so to celebrate the winter season and give students and staff a chance to mingle, we hosted the annual holiday mixer in December. Over 100 people attended, and it was a huge success.
This quarter, we are selling chocolate truffles to raise money for our club! If you would like a special treat this February, don't hesitate to order one using the QR code in the image below, or this link! Sign-ups close on February 10th.
If you'd like to support the Food Tech Club, we take donations through Zelle and Venmo! We appreciate any contributions. The club could not go on without the generosity from the community, so thank you!
