Two members of the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES) Distributed Shared Services Center (DiSSC) have received certifications from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) - human resources managers Andrea Aguilar (from our BFTV Cluster) and Leslie Jones.
DiSSC is a two-year-old department that delivers human resources, payroll and leave administration services throughout the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. It was created in 2019 after the campus converted to a new payroll and human resources system called UCPath.
“Converting to the new system was an intense process requiring many months of preparation and hard work,” Aguilar said. “We have a fantastic group of expert payroll specialists and human resources analysts who provide excellent support dedicated to the departments in the college.”
DiSSC continues to work hand in hand with the UCPath Center, campus and service channel leadership teams to overcome the challenges presented by the new system and to stabilize the UCPath experience for supervisors and employees alike. In addition to UCPath, the team has had to quickly learn many new processes and systems, such as the new I-9 Tracker system, Handshake for student recruitment and AggieService case management.
“We continue to be impressed by how our DiSSC staff and leadership have risen to every new challenge over the past two years,” said Penny Herbert, CA&ES executive assistant dean. “We are thankful for their commitment to the college and their patience with the UCPath tool.”
