Job Description & Qualifications:

The DiCaprio lab in the Department of Food Science and Technology at the University of California, Davis is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to perform research in the area of norovirus persistence in the produce production environment. The selected candidate will have experience detecting foodborne pathogens in complex matrices and have a basic understanding of virological methodology. The responsibilities of the position will include designing laboratory and field experiments, analyzing data, writing manuscripts, and aiding undergraduate and graduate students.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in food science, microbiology, biology, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in mammalian cell culture, virus cultivation, and molecular detection methods for foodborne pathogens. The postdoctoral researcher must have excellent writing and communication skills, and must be self- motivated.
