Student Standing
4th-year undergraduate student

Degree/Focus:
Viticulture and Enology, with a strong focus on winemaking, but a deep appreciation for viticulture too. I believe the best wines are made by those who keep their hands in both the vineyard and the cellar.

Hometown:
Pretty much all over California.

What brought you to UC Davis?
Sheer determination. I knew I didn’t want to uproot my life for just any program — it had to be UC Davis or nothing.

Favorite Part of the Program:
Honestly, it’s a tie: learning the science behind vines and wine is amazing, but the connections this program offers — real-world internships, job leads, mentors — are absolutely game-changing.

Internship Experiences:
I did a harvest internship at the UC Davis Teaching and Research Winery. The intern group camaraderie made it unforgettable. It also gave me a hands-on look at how industry and research collide on a practical level— and made me even more excited about this career.

Future Plans:
I’m heading to Tuscany for a one-year internship at I Greppi (in Bolgheri!) thanks to an international scholarship from the department. I can't wait to throw myself into everything — winemaking, vineyard work, lab work, and soak up all the knowledge.

Fun Fact:
I took off on a year-long around-the-world trip when I was 23, visiting over 15 countries. It taught me a lot about people, cultures, and rolling with whatever life throws at you.
