On March 29, 2016, a team from UCD V&E was On-the-Road in Sonoma at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts.

90 local grape growers and winemakers came to hear about some of the research taking place at UC Davis, including:

- The latest Red Blotch research results from Anita Oberholster
- Ongoing single-vine resolution irrigation research from David Block
- New faculty member Ron Runnebaum's ongoing and proposed research projects
- Trellis type and its effects on water use efficiency of red wine grapes under prolonged drought by Kaan Kurtural
- Metabolic profiling of grape and wine aromas research from Sue Ebeler

We were delighted that many attendees stayed for lunch and discussed issues important to them.

We'd like to thank Rhonda Smith,Viticulture Farm Advisor, Sonoma County, for her help with hosting the event, getting the word out and advising on relevant topics!
