VMTH Doggy Dash 5K - Sept. 7

The UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital will sponsor the Doggy Dash 5K road race as part of the Golden Valley Harriers Labor Day Races. The eventto be held at 7:45 a.m. in Davis Central Park on September 7, 2015will provide a rare opportunity for both serious and recreational road racers to run a 5K with their dog. Participants are also welcome to walk the 5K with their dog.

Reiki at UCDHS - August 24

Reiki is considered energy work, as opposed to massage, which is body work. It helps the recipient increase his/her natural energy to enhance relaxation, and promote the healing process. Reiki has been used in the UCD Childrens Hospital for the past 16 years to help children and their family members deal with pain, reduce stress, and increase their ability to cope with illness/injury and the rigors of hospitalization.

Conflict Resolution Tools Workshop - August 19

Participants identify specific tools to address conflict constructively and engage in healthy conflict resolution. Participants in this interactive workshop learn how to identify, assess and address a conflict constructively. Participants explore a 3 stage model of how conflict escalates, identify the top ten workplace irritations, clarify 5 strategies of how to respond productively, distinguish specific conflict cues, and discover ways to manage ones emotions.

Meditation at UCDHS - August 17

For the 2015 Meditation Series, each month we will explore practical suggestions on how to live a radiantly healthy life. We will learn how to have more energy and vitality, to be receptive, to be relaxed, to recharge the body, calm the mind, open the heart and to have positive, cheerful and wholesome attitudes. These workshops can be for beginners who are just learning about meditation or for people who already make meditation their daily practice.
