The UC Davis College Bowl Team will be advancing to nationals at IFT17 in Las Vegas after taking first place at the IFTSA Pacific Northwest Area Meeting!

Last year, UC Davis won first place in the College Bowl National competition for the first time in over ten years, making it the second time overall that the university has taken home the championship title. 2017 marks a new competition, making way for new members to join the team. This years members include undergraduate senior students Jim Pan, Isabelle Huang, Crane Sun, and Jenna Huynh, as well as a first-year graduate student and team captain, Taylor Lee. Stephen Young and Maha Alshehab, who were both on the winning college bowl team last year, serve as the co-coaches for the team. After last years competition, the new team held weekly study sessions and practices. All the hard work was tested at the regional competition held in Vancouver, Canada at the University of British Colombia. On March 11, UC Davis faced off other universities such as Oregon State University (34-8), Brigham Young University (16-8), and Washington State University (42-0), where the UC Davis team won the competition undefeated. With this win, the team will advance to compete to defend their championship title against universities from different regions all over the US at the IFT Expo in Las Vegas.

Congratulations to the UC Davis College Bowl Team and good luck at IFT17 Nationals!
