Position open: Mills Lab Postdoc

Food Science & Technology Postdoctoral Research Scholar Opening 

Job Function: Microbiological research (Scientific) 

The Mills lab is looking for a postdoctoral scientist to examine the influence of diet on neonatal gut microbial ecology and host physiology. The work will involve characterization of microbial food networks that occur within nursing and weaning neonates from a variety of perspectives (genomic, glycomic, metabolomic etc.) enabled by the team of researchers at UC Davis focused on infant development. 

Job Requirements: PhD in Microbiology, Food Science, Animal Science or similar field with expertise with microbiota analyses (i.e. marker gene sequencing and metagenomics), bacterial genomics, genetics and physiology as well as experience with animal models. 

Location: Mills Lab, Department of Food Science & Technology, UC Davis, Davis, CA 

Salary range: Commensurate with Experience 

Dates of Employment: 1/1/16-12/31/16 with probability of reappointment for one additional year, Full time
